THE YACHTLINER April 2016
Yachtline's newsletter for clients
Welcome to the 2016 sailing season. We hope all your preparations have gone smoothly and you've been out on the water, just a foretaste of all the wonderful cruising that lies ahead over the coming months. We wish you all the excitement and fun that you want. Keep safe!
Yachtline alert - beware seacock failure
Many seacocks have a life of only 5-10 years, a lot less than the life of your yacht and if a seacock fails while you are cruising, the boat will fill with water, a problem well worth avoiding! If the seacocks on your boat are showing any sign of corrosion or leakage, you can replace them with bronze seacocks (which will last the life of the yacht). We know one yachtsman who keeps softwood bungs taped near each seacock so that in the event of a failure, it can be sealed up easily.
Crossing The 'Pond'
We are always keen to celebrate success, and recently a client reported that he had safely sailed across the Atlantic with no damage or breakages. Despite popular references to 'crossing the pond', the Atlantic remains a wild and unpredictable ocean, and much care and skill is required to sail across it in a yacht, so well done!
Yachtline is 'prompt and excellent'
It's great to know that clients really value the work we do. Most recently, a client took the time to write and thank us for Yachtline's 'prompt and excellent service'. It's what we aim for, every time for every client.
