THE YACHTLINER December 2011
Yachtline's newsletter for clients
Our thoughts are beginning to turn to the Christmas break and celebrations. We're looking forward to a Christmas Day afternoon stroll round the nearest marina. For some of us that means St Katherine Dock in London, so if you're going to be enjoying Christmas lunch afloat there, look out for us! Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, please take care, have fun and very best wishes for another great sailing year in 2012.
A big welcome to our first client in New Zealand
Sir, we are delighted that you have chosen Yachtline to insure your yacht. We are already looking forward to the renewal in 2012, and many renewals thereafter. Our record stands at 20 - one client insured his yacht for 21 years with us without a break, until infirmity meant, unfortunately, that he could no longer sail. It was sad to bid farewell, we felt he was part of the family.
Fort Lauderdale Boat Show
Yachtline's globe-trotting underwriter, Wayne Scott, paid a visit to Florida's Fort Lauderdale, Boat Show in October and came away very impressed by the event, the boats, especially the larger yachts and the expertise present. There were seminars with constructors, lawyers, surveyors, managers and yachtsmen. Particularly interesting was a presentation on how well the owners of older and classic yachts look after their boats. The wider US economy was visibly in difficulty but inside the show, the talk was upbeat and buzzing with energy. It's a good sign for an excellent 2012 season.
Yachtline's premiums lower by 30%, say clients
Feedback from clients of our French office has suggested that our competitors are quoting premiums 30% more than Yachtline's. This reinforces our view that for sensible yacht owners, Yachtline's cover is really good value. No point in paying more to another insurer who uses the extra to subsidise careless owners.
