THE YACHTLINER June 2014
Yachtline's newsletter for clients
There has been a surge of optimism in the UK, we observe, and a very welcome one, given the austere and uncertain times. Some years ago, all around, the story was that UK boat owners were selling to euro-area buyers, and boats were disappearing to new homes in Europe. But now, the tide seems to have turned, and UK owners are buying in Europe and bringing boats to the UK. Let's hope both market and boats remain buoyant!
Allianz renews its support for Yachtline for the 8th year
At Yachtline, we're very proud that Allianz has confirmed that they will underwrite our policies for the 8th year running. The feedback is that Allianz really values the care we take in assessing risk and pricing the cover we provide and also how smoothly the back office processes run. The quality of Yachtline's operation isn?t limited to these areas of course, as clients will be glad to hear. Our claims handling is similarly smooth and excellent.
No more surveys ? now for boats up to 30 feet long
Yachtline is now able to insure boats up to 30 feet long cruising in Europe, Scandinavia and the Mediterranean WITHOUT a survey report. Yachtline started the 'no survey required' initiative with the smallest of boats, and as each year has gone by, experience has shown that relying on boat owner self-certification is no more risky that insisting on a survey. We always knew you were a sensible bunch, and now we can prove it and deliver you the cost savings.
Emergency spend ceilings increased
We'd really like to think that none of our clients will ever have an emergency. But if you do, the last thing you want to be worrying about is whether your insurer will cover the expenses. Our Lloyd's cover has increased emergency cost ceilings - for towing, the cost limit is now $10,000 and for medical expenses, also $10,000.
